Tax Season is Here

Tax season is upon us and, as always, the library is starting to receive federal and state tax forms. Don't forget that current and previous year forms and also available online at the Internal Revenue Service and Illinois Department of Revenue websites. Also, electronic filing may be an option for you. The State of Illinois offers free electronic filing, while there is a link to e-file sites from the IRS website. Watch the Inauguration at the Library

Would you like to watch the historic inauguration of Barack Obama with your neighbors? Join us on Tuesday the 20th when we will be showing the event in our Hammond Room. The inaugural oath and address will take place at 11:00, with assorted festivities happening throughout the day. We'll also have lots of books by and about President-elect Obama on hand. Or how about taking out one of the books from his reading list?

You don't feel like leaving your house in this cold weather...we understand! However, you can still enjoy much of what the library has to offer from your PC at home. Download audiobooks! Download videos! Read your favorite magazines and newspapers! Look for books and renew the books that you have checked out! You can even help your kids get tutored! And you can do it all in your pajamas (optional).

Teen Study Break Lounge Starts Saturday

Looking to take a break while studying for finals? Stop by our Study Break Lounge for FREE snacks and socializing. The Lounge will be open from Saturday, January 10 through Thursday, January 15th, and will be held in either the Hammond Room or the YA Media Room on the first floor (check at the Readers' Services desk for location). Winter Reading Reminder

If you haven't signed up yet for winter reading come on by! We've got great prizes for signing up and for completing the program, and you have until March 1st to read your books. The program is open to children, teens and adults, so stop by the library and escape into a good book!
